Functional Literacy

This has to do with trying to school adults who weren't
able to finish either primary or secondary schooll.
We teach them from the basis down to what
they teach in conventional senior secondary school.

Preservation of the Environment

We've worked with GEF/SGP to train people on the dangers of lands
degradation and also training them on alternative means of livelihood.

HIV/AIDS Mitigation

We've partnered with the likes of NACA, KAD-SACA, EVA, etc in this aspect.

Specific objectives of CaRE-NGO include:

• To carry out action-oriented, people-centered researches for development and direct intervention projects/activities using participatory methods, especially through functional literacy, training of trainers geared towards improving the lot of the people at the grassroots on a sustained basis;
• To provide support services to all the key actors in sustained human development process in all her ramifications;
• Provide timely development information, education, communication and;
• Consultancy to all the stakeholders in the development process/continuum.

In 2011, CaRE-NGO implemented a project on Reclamation of Degraded Land resulting from Earth and Precious Stone Mining in Ngat-Shang and Shang Communities in Fai District, Jaba LGA, Kaduna State with support from GEF/SGP/UNDP, Abuja.

In 2015 – 2016 under the auspices of CiSHAN, Kaduna State Chapter, CaRE-NGO conducted Peer Educators Training for Female Sex Workers (FSWs) and Injectables Drug Users (IDUs) on HIV/AIDS prevention in Kachia LGA. This project was funded by KADSACA through the World Bank HIV/AIDS Programme.

In 2016, CaRE-NGO in collaboration with the Kaduna State Ministry of Budget and Planning conducted a sensitization training for community members on exclusive breastfeeding and hand washing in 3 communities of Kachia LGA, Kaduna State. Funded by UNICEF.

In 2016-2017, CaRE-NGO implemented a project on promoting peaceful coexistence through sensitization workshops, community mobilization, and enlightenment activities geared towards countering dangerous/hate speech to prevent mass violence in the three senatorial zones in Kaduna State with support from NEXUS Fund, Abuja.

In partnership with Education as a Vaccine (EVA), CaRE-NGO facilitated training for 10 Youth Advocates Group (YAG) on capacity building, skills up-grading on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) of Adolescent and young people to advocate for increased access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information and services for adolescents and young people in Kaduna.

In 2017-2018, CaRE-NGO is currently implementing a project on prevention of mass violence through training workshop for youth advocates and media outreaches activities towards reduction in hate/dangerous speeches for a sustainable peaceful coexistence among various political, ethnic and religious groups in Kaduna State with support from NEXUS Fund, Abuja.
